As unique as the number sounds, 2020 has been a distinctive and hard year for all. For the Bollywood Industry, this year has marked not only the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic but also the death of many famous Bollywood celebrities. These celebrities hade made a special place in our hearts and, their loss left everyone shattered. Their art will always stay with us.
Here are the Bollywood celebrities we lost in 2020.
Jagdeep.
Jagdeep, the Indian film actor and comedian, died this Wednesday on 8th July. He had appeared in more than 400 films and usually performed comic roles. His most memorable character is Soorma Bhopali in the movie Sholay. He also performed in Purana Mandir, Andaz Apna Apna, and directed the movie Soorma Bhopali.
Saroj Khan.
Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan, aged 71, passed away on 3rd July due to a cardiac arrest. She was fondly known as Masterji, in the Bollywood industry. Her dance and teaching style had won the hearts of millions, especially among famous dancers such as Madhuri and Sridevi. She is a three-time National Award Winner and has choreographed over 2000 songs.
Sushant Singh Rajput.
Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s Suicide left everyone shook and shattered. The Police are still investigating his case. His death raised a lot of debates regarding the workings of the Bollywood industry. Sushant was a hardworking actor and was starred as the lead in great movies such as Kai Po Che, M.S Dhoni-the Untold Story, and Chhichhore.
Wajid Khan
Singer and composer Wajid Khan of the Sajid-Wajid duo passed away on 1st June. He had complications from a kidney infection. He was known for his compositions in popular movies such as Wanted, Dabang, and Ek Tha Tiger. The death of this legend left the film industry saddened.
Rishi Kapoor
Bollywood’s Original Chocolate boy, Rishi Kapoor, passed away on 30th April. He had been suffering from Cancer for a long time. He was known for his natural acting and brutally honest nature. He charmed his way in Bollywood by his debut in “Bobby.” His all-time favorite hits include movies such as Laila Majnu, Amar Akbar Anthony, Rafoo Chakkar, and Karz.
Irrfan Khan
Irrfan Khan was truly a gem for the Bollywood Industry. He died on 29th April, battling tumor. He was one of the most versatile actors and was loved by all. He had managed to become successful not only in Bollywood but also in the Hollywood industry. Some of his game-changing hits are Hindi Medium, English Medium, The Lunchbox, and Maqbool.
