What is karumathi Prayer?
If you want to understand the meaning of Karumathi prayers then you have to break the word Karumathi into two parts. The first part is Karma which means rites and the second part is Athi which means the end of something. So you can get the whole meaning of the word Karumathi as "end of the rites".When to do Karumathi Prayer?
Usually, people start the Karumathi prayer on the night of the 15th day and end it in the morning of the 16th day. But some communities follow a distinct pattern and they consider the 13th day as the end of the rites. So they offer their last set of prayers on the 13th day after cremation. The followers of this community give a distinct name to this and it is called Sapindikarnam. What is the Right way of Performing Karumathi Prayer at Home?
