Embassy Notification and Legal Permit: 

The process commences with notifying authorities in both countries regarding the passing of a Maldivian citizen in Bangladesh. Following approval from local and national authorities in Bangladesh, our team retrieves the body from the hospital or place of death.

Body Transfer to Mortuary: 

Senior doctors at a certified medical facility in Bangladesh conduct the initial examination. Once it is confirmed that there was no sudden or unnatural death, the body is transferred to the mortuary where it remains until all documentation is completed.

Completion of Legal Paperwork:

Acquiring valid documents from Bangladesh authorities is crucial for the international transportation of deceased bodies. With our trained professionals, Last Journey ensures a seamless process.

Required Documents:

• Original and duplicate Death Certificate
• Deceased's Passport and personal documents
• Travel permit from Bangladesh airport authority
• Embalming certificate issued by certified doctors
• Health department certification confirming non-contagious status
• Certificate for the sealed coffin box
• Flight and air cargo tickets details
• No Objection Certificate (NOC)
• Local police permit
• Postmortem report for unnatural deaths
• Proof of deceased's residence in Bangladesh
• IDs of accompanying family members

All these documents must be available in original and copy. The Last Journey team arranges 8-10 copies of each essential document and the copies of each document are submitted to the different departments related to the Repatriation procedure.

Embalming Services:

Upon family consent, the embalming process commences at a certified center in Bangladesh. Transported in a well-equipped ambulance, the remains are carefully preserved in a controlled environment. Chemical treatments and natron application are utilized to prevent decomposition, after which the body is securely placed in a sealed coffin.

Air Cargo and Flight Booking: 

After completing the necessary documentation, we arrange two-way air cargo and flight tickets. Timing and details are coordinated based on the family's preferences and availability.

Additional Information:

Last Journey manages ambulance transport, coordinates with airport authorities, and oversees the shipment of remains.
In cases where no family members accompany the cargo, our team ensures a dignified final journey.
