A Stepwise Guide to Our Process

1. Informing the Embassy and Attaining a Legal Permit
   • We notify authorities about the death of a citizen of Myanmar in Bangladesh.
   • After securing permits from local and national authorities in Bangladesh, we retrieve the deceased from the hospital or place of death.
2. Shifting the Body to Mortuary
   • Senior doctors perform a primary inspection at a certified medical facility in Bangladesh.
   • After confirming no sudden or unnatural death, the body is transferred to the mortuary for safekeeping until documentation is complete.
3. Completing Legal Paperwork
   • Collecting necessary documents from Bangladesh authorities is crucial and with our experienced team, Last Journey ensures a seamless process.

Documents Required for Legal Relocation

• Original and duplicate Death Certificate
• Passport and personal documents of the deceased
• Airport travel permit from Bangladesh authority
• Embalming certificate signed by certified professionals
• Health department letter confirming non contagious state
• Sealed coffin box certificate
• Flight and air cargo tickets details
• No Objection Certificate (NOC)
• Local police permit
• Postmortem report (if death was unnatural)
• Proof of stay in Bangladesh (e.g., hotel bills, house rent)
• IDs of accompanying family members

All these documents must be available in original and copy. The Last Journey team arranges 8-10 copies of each essential document and the copies of each document are submitted to the different departments related to the Repatriation procedure.

Embalming Services for Human Remains

• We obtain family consent for embalming.
• Transfer to a certified embalming center in Bangladesh is conducted using a well-equipped ambulance.
• The body is preserved in a cool environment, using a mixture of chemicals and natron to prevent decomposition, before being sealed in a coffin box.

Booking Air Cargo and Flight Tickets

• After documentation, we book two-way air cargo and flight tickets to Myanmar.
• Timing and convenience for the deceased's family are prioritized.

Note:

• We manage transportation to the airport, coordinate with airport authorities, and ensure safe shipping of human remains.
• If no family member accompanies the cargo, our team ensures a respectful journey.
