As the family of the departed person needs professional support at each step, the team segregates itself into sub-teams to carry out all the tasks simultaneously.

Notifying the Embassy and Obtaining Legal Permits - 

Our process begins by informing authorities in both countries about the passing of a Nepalese citizen in Bangladesh. After securing permits from Bangladesh's local and higher authorities, we retrieve the body from the hospital or the place of death.

Transfer to the Mortuary -

 Senior doctors conduct the initial examination of the deceased at a certified medical facility in Bangladesh. Once confirmed that the death was not sudden or unnatural, the body is transferred to the mortuary for safekeeping until all documentation is finalized.

Completing Legal Documentation - 

Securing necessary documents from Bangladeshi authorities is crucial in international body transportation. Though the process may take time, our skilled team ensures a smooth and effortless process for the family

List of documents required for lawfully receiving the remains of a deceased:  

• Death Certificate in original as well as duplicate (copy). 
• Passport and other personal documents of the deceased person.
• Permit for traveling from the airport authority of Bangladesh.
• Embalming certificate signed by professional & certified doctors.
• A letter from the health department stating the noncontagious state of the dead body.
• Certificate for the coffin box to keep the embalmed remains with perfect sealing.
• Details of flight tickets and air cargo tickets with timing, names and other essential information. 
• No objection certificate or NOC
• Local area police permit
• Postmortem report if death occurred due to any unnatural cause.
• Any proof of the deceased's staying in Bangladesh like hotel bills, house rent, etc.
• IDs of the accompanying family members who are participating in the Dead body transportation.

All these documents must be available in original and copy. The Last Journey team arranges 8-10 copies of each essential document and the copies of each document are submitted to the different departments related to the Repatriation procedure.

Handling Embalming Services: 

Beginning with obtaining consent from the family, our team transports the deceased to a certified embalming center in Bangladesh, facilitated by a local funeral direction team using a well-equipped ambulance. Throughout transport, the remains are stored securely in a cool environment, typically a freezing box or cooling cabinet. The embalming process involves removing bodily fluids, injecting a preservative solution of chemicals and water to maintain the body, and applying natron to prevent decomposition. Subsequently, the embalmed remains are carefully placed and secured in a sealed coffin box.

Arranging Air Cargo and Flight Tickets Online: 

Upon completing documentation, we proceed to arrange two-way air cargo services and book flight tickets online. The timing of air travel for both the deceased and accompanying family members is scheduled according to their convenience and availability.

Notes:

Last Journey manages the deceased's transport to the airport via ambulance service, notifies airport authorities, and organizes the shipment of human remains.
If no family member accompanies the cargo, our team ensures its safe journey to its final destination.
