Process of Transportation from Thailand to Taiwan:
At Last Journey, we take pride in our meticulous approach and structured operations for the legal relocation of deceased remains. We oversee the entire process from start to finish, handling every detail:
- We liaise with the relevant authorities, such as the embassy or consulate general of Thailand and Taiwan.
- We assist the family in providing the necessary documentation details.
- We ensure the safety of the human remains through medical procedures like embalming.
- We coordinate local transportation services for the body.
- We pre-book air cargo slots and flight tickets.
- We offer doorstep delivery of the mortal remains to your home in Taiwan.
- Throughout the process, we provide seamless online updates to keep family members informed.
A Stepwise Guide:
The team segregates itself into sub-teams to carry out all the tasks simultaneously.
1. Informing the Embassy for a Legal permit -
It starts with notifying authorities in both countries about the passing of a Chinese citizen in Thailand. Once we obtain permits from relevant local and higher authorities in Thailand, our team retrieves the body from the hospital or the location of death.
2. Medical Inspection -
Certified medical professionals in Thailand conduct the initial examination of the deceased. After confirming there are no indications of sudden or unnatural death, the body is transferred to the mortuary for secure storage while the necessary documentation is finalized.
3. Completion of the Legal Paperwork -
Collecting valid papers from the concerned authorities of Thailand is the most crucial task in the legal transportation of the dead body internationally. With our trained, experienced and professional team members, Last Journey makes sure that the overall process is effortless.
Please find a list of documents required for lawfully receiving the remains of a deceased:
- Original and duplicate Death Certificates.
- Passport and other personal documents of the deceased.
- Travel permit from Thailand airport authorities.
- Embalming certificate issued by certified professionals.
- Health department letter confirming the non-contagious status of the body.
- Certificate for the coffin box to securely contain the embalmed remains.
- Flight and air cargo tickets with detailed timing and essential information.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC).
- Local area police permit.
- Post-mortem report if death occurred under unnatural circumstances.
- Proof of the deceased's residence in Thailand, such as hotel bills or rental agreements.
- IDs of accompanying family members involved in the transportation of the deceased.
All these documents must be available in original and copy. The Last Journey team arranges 8-10 copies of each essential document and the copies of each document are submitted to the different departments related to the Repatriation procedure.
4. Embalming Services for the human remains -
After having obtained consent from the family members for the Embalming procedure, the team moves the human remains to a certified embalming center in Thailand with the help of a local funeral direction team.
This transportation is conducted using a well-equipped ambulance van.
At the embalming center, the remains are stored in a cool environment, typically in a freezing box or cooling cabinet. The embalming procedure involves draining bodily fluids, injecting a mixture of chemicals and water to preserve the body, and coating the entire body with natron to prevent decomposition. Finally, the remains are carefully placed and secured in a sealed coffin box.
5. Online Bookings -
Two-way air cargo services and flight tickets are booked after completing the documentation process.
As per the convenience and availability of the family members, the team finalizes a time slot and books air travel for the body and accompanying family members.
Note -
1) The transportation of the dead body to the airport through ambulance service, informing the airport authority and shipping the human remains is taken care of by the team at Last Journey.
2) If no family member is travelling with the cargo, our team members accompany its last journey.
